PureGym Air Conditioning Installation in Bedford
Legacy Air Conditioning recently completed a commercial air conditioning installation for PureGym in Bedford, installing a combination of exposed ceiling cassette systems to provide effective heating and cooling across the gym.
The project consisted of two twin split systems and one single split system, with the indoor cassette units suspended from the open ceiling structure to work with the industrial-style finish of the space.
Air Conditioning Designed for a Gym Environment
Gyms can be demanding spaces when it comes to temperature control. High occupancy levels, heat generated during exercise and equipment in constant use can all contribute to rising temperatures throughout the day.
An effective air conditioning system is therefore important for maintaining a comfortable environment for both gym members and staff.
For the PureGym Bedford project, ceiling cassette air conditioning units provided an effective solution for distributing conditioned air throughout the large, open areas of the gym.
Exposed Ceiling Cassette Installation
Rather than being recessed into a suspended ceiling, the cassette units at this PureGym were installed fully exposed and suspended from the open ceiling structure.
This suited the modern, industrial-style design of the gym, where lighting, ductwork and cable trays are also left visible.
The exposed installation also allowed the cassette units to be positioned effectively within the space, helping to provide even air distribution across the workout areas while maintaining the open feel of the building.
Two Twin Splits and One Single Split
The installation consisted of:
2 x twin split air conditioning systems
1 x single split air conditioning system
5 exposed ceiling cassette indoor units in total
With each twin split system serving two indoor units from one outdoor unit, this setup allowed multiple areas to be conditioned efficiently while limiting the number of outdoor units required.
The additional single split system provides dedicated heating and cooling to its required area.
